D&D’s famous classes come to Magic in a very flavorful way

There’s nothing more iconic in Dungeons & Dragons than classes. They are the basis of your character’s background and guide what will happen throughout your adventures.

It wouldn’t be fitting for Magic’s first D&D-themed set, Adventures in the Forgotten Realms (AFR) to arrive without paying homage to classes. Fortunately, players can look forward to 12 different cards, each themed around an iconic D&D class.

We’ve already seen a ton of cool cards today with excellent flavor. There are also some powerful new cards that are sure to have an impact in a variety of formats from standard to Commander to limited.

This summer promises to be an exciting one for fans of both Magic: The Gathering as well as Dungeons & Dragons. That’s partially because Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has announced a major crossover between the two franchises.

It comes in the form of a new standard-legal Magic set called Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms (AFR).

With prerelease weekend for Modern Horizons 2 kicking off, most of the Magic community’s attention has been focused on cracking fetch lands and powerful new modern staples.

That doesn’t mean fans of other formats can’t have something nice too.

During the 300th episode of Dragon Talk, a long-running podcast dedicated to Dungeons & Dragons, hosts Greg Tito and Shelly Mazzanoble revealed two new Magic cards.

The effects of climate change have an impact on many areas of life. However, few biomes are hit harder than coral reefs. High ocean temperatures can cause mass bleaching events that devastate reefs and, in turn, spell ruin for the creatures that live there.

Scientists have tried a variety of approaches in hopes of saving coral reefs. Now, research from the Carnegie Institution for Science suggests that a bit of gene-hacking could keep reefs safe from the effects of climate change.
